Phone XR won't activate - how to fix?

The iPhone XR has no baseband, after restoring, the iPhone XR can't be activated anymore, the SN displays normally, but the iPhone XR just stuck on that interface and can't move on. How to fix this iPhone XR activation failure? Keep reading!

Use qianli 2D screwdriver to remove the screws at the bottom of the iPhone screen, put iPhone XR on the CPB screen separator to heat, and then use LCD sucker to open the iPhone screen.

Remove the iPhone XR display assembly, disconnect the battery, and then take off the iPhone XR motherboard.

We can see that the iPhone was repaired before, the baseband shield cover has been disassembled, and there is repair sticker on it. And we found that the iPhone Nand flash also been repaired before, because there are some black glue around it.

Remove the repair sticker, obviously the iPhone baseband has been repaired before, the capacitors and resistors around it has been corroded and blackened, which means the solder pastes they used is not good, the moisture content of the solder paste they use is relatively high, causing the iPhone powered place are corroded and blackened.

Use LEISTO T12-11 soldering iron to smoke rosin to the motherboard, so the solder oil for the bottom pin of the IC assembly can be replaced.

Now place the iPhone motherboard to a PCB holder, use hot air gun and tweezers to remove the iPhone baseband.

Put the iPhone motherboard under a microscope to observe, the iPhone baseband IC doesn't looks good. Apply some solder paste to the baseband, and then reballing it.

After reballing, assemble the iPhone XR to test it, but the failure is still the same.

Now use Fluke 17B+ digital multimeter to measure the resistance value for the iPhone baseband power supply, we found all resistance value measured are normal.

Check iPhone motherboard again, we found the RF IC also has been repaired before, so we are going to replace the RF IC.

After replacing the RFI IC, install the iPhone XR, connect the iPhone XR to the computer via iPhone lightning cable, and then restore it. After restoring, the iPhone XR can be activated successfully, the problem has been fixed!

Tips:

If the iPhone has no baseband or no signal, please do not restore or flash the iPhone, because if finally the iPhone can't be fixed, then the iPhone will can't be used anymore, just like a stone.
